Posted: August 01, 2016 @10:06 am I would like to get a feel from you, the residence on how you feel about on movie night we have "double features"?? We would most likely have to start the first feature at 6:30 PM. Would it run too long & too late for most of you. Give me some feed backs. I have mucho movies but can only get so many in in a years time and with these cancelations that pop up & no movie in December it plays havoc with the schedule. I would be willing to do Saturday afternoon matinee's if no one is using the center on that particular weekend. However there would be no pop corn--"sorry" you would have to bring your own treats. I'd like feed back on these ideas! Thank You! - Nick Bitzer

Posted: August 02, 2016 @11:33 pm Hi Nick, I think a double feature is pushing it. Most events are only a few hours long. Seems to be what the residents want. Regarding food, have you thought about having movie food like juju bees, Good and Plenty and hot dogs/sodas? Perhaps you can get the board to buy one of those hot dog machines. Teresa and I are putting together a proposal for a new PA/sound system that would greatly improve the sound of your movies. Also what about showing 3-D movies? Can you? I’d be willing to help any way I can. Iggy

Posted: August 03, 2016 @12:18 pm Response to "Iggys" post: Unfortunately the current video equipment doesn't support 3D. I don't even have a dvd 3D player at home, however a ,ot of the dvd movies I'm buying include a 3D dvd but can't play them. Hey! The introduction of a better sound system I'm all for! Most of my complaints are from people sitting up front that can't hear the sound. I'm sure this would be a plus to your concerts held! As far as food goes--yes, I've talked this over with the movie committee basically my wife & I & to do the hot dog thing we would have to get more people involved. The popcorn is stressful enough. If I could get a body or two to help do the food end that would be great! But you know how hard it is to get involvement in anything. Back to the sound system. it would help greatly if the sound control would be where the video controls are instead of having to walk back to the rear of the room to control tempo! Yes, "Iggy" some of these things have been thought of & yes the double feature would push it!You wouldn't have to attend both features--plan on the late one or the early feature. Thanks for your input, I know your view is not the opinion of the majority in which some think movies are a waist of time to some. I will continue, however to show movies until I get two consecutive movie nights that no one shows, Then it will end! Thanks Again "Iggy"! - Nick Bitzer

Posted: August 05, 2016 @12:07 pm Responding to Nick: Nick, I think any DVD player can play 3D as it’s just red/green images that trick you eye when wearing 3d glasses. “Any DVD that is 3D will play on anything, although you need a color TV to create the red and green filtered images for each eye. In that case 3D is just the picture, not the video signal. “ · The proposed sound system will be a mixer type box with speakers and bass sub woofers. No you won’t have to control it from the back of the room! · Popcorn is stressful??? Why not ask for the HOA to purchase one of those hot dog roller/cookers like they have in convenience stores? I’m sure a lot of the events could use it.

Posted: August 07, 2016 @07:07 am Nick responding to "Iggy": "Iggy" Our small committee of two for movie night does not have a budget anymore. The kitchen has taken this over. So any food served on movie night would have to go through the kitchen committee & they are the one's that would have to delegate help for food preparation on movie night. We now have to let them know when we are low on pop corn so that they can purchase it. Also, in doing a little research on this 3D thing. You need a 3D HD TV & a 3D ready Blu-ray player in order to show 3D. Most TV's now are only 2D capable. As for the system in the community center, I know that the dvd player is not 3D but don't know about the projector. I really doubt it since this technology is fairly new. Hey Nick, I was looking at the DVD player in the clubhouse. It's Blue Ray and can play 3-D according to the instruction manual. Just an FYI.
